Four Gateway Teams in Top 11

For the first time in Gateway history, four league teams are ranked among the top 11 in a national top-25 poll. Western Illinois stands at No. 2, while Southern Illinois moves up a spot to No. 7, Western Kentucky holds at No. 9, and UNI moves up a notch to No. 11.
A battle of two Gateway top-10 schools takes place this week as unbeaten Southern Illinois faces Western Illinois in Macomb. It will mark the 10th time in league history that two top-10 Gateway teams have faced each other.

Saturday, May 9th, 2009Two league schools have their Homecoming games on Saturday, Oct. 11. Southern Illinois hosts Illinois State in Carbondale, while UNI entertains Indiana State. Western Illinois opened its Gateway season last weekend with a 33-28 Homecoming win against Western Kentucky.

GFC Ends Near-Perfect Non-League Slate
Saturday, May 9th, 2009The Gateway Conference went 5-2 in its final non-conference regular-season weekend of the year, giving the Gateway a 25-10 record against non-league foes in 2003. Eight of the 10 losses came at the hands of I-A schools.

Four Gateway Teams Dot Top 25
